Woodcraft Folk's impact

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Experience of group night activities, camps, projects and commitees has a really positive impact on children and young people in Woodcraft Folk.

Below you can download a summary of what young people told Cadence, our external evaluators, about the impact youth participation in Woodcraft Folk has had on them. The survey was conducted amongst young people who have experienced either activities run at a local or camp level supported by TREE resources, or activities run by the TREE team themselves:

  • Workshops at Venturer Camp, DF Camp, Annual Gathering or CoCamp
  • Activities from resources such as the Venturer Activities Book and Right to Refuge campaign
  • Projects supported by the Action Project fund
  • Committees such as the TREE Steering Group and Communications Group, who have made key decisions and plans for the TREE programme

[NB TREE is Woodcraft Folk's 5-year programme to develop youth participation throughout the organisation, and work with partners to develop youth participation in other organisations and in society.]
