After so long, having fun in the sun at Biblins Summer Camps 2021

After pretty much two years without camping Woodcraft’s summer camps were back this August for pioneers and venturers at Biblins Campsite! Pioneers aged 10-12 had a jam-packed week commencing on Monday 2nd of August 2021 until Saturday 7th of August 2021.

Woodcraft Folk's Annual General Meeting will take place online on Sunday 26th September at 11am. All members are welcome to attend and those Group & District Contacts with formal voting rights will be contacted shortly to confirm who will act as voting delegates during the meeting.

Co-op College Nominations

Woodcraft Folk is a member of the Co-operative College. The Co-operative College are keen to welcome new Trustees to their Board following a restructure, they are particularly keen to engage young member in their governance.

Nominations are now open for the Co-operative College 2021 trustee elections. Nominations will close on Friday 20 August 2021 at 5pm.

Woodcraft Folk published its preliminary agenda for the Annual General Meeting at the end of June.

The agenda includes the usual presentation of accounts and the Trustee's Annual Report. General Council are pleased to announce that despite the pandemic we did manage to perform better than first feared when groups closed in March 2020: launching #DreamBigAtHome, attracting new funding and achieving a near balanced financial outturn.

The agenda will also include a discussion of a constitutional amendment which seeks to introduce a gender quota within our Trustee Board.

HAF programme launched

Yesterday Woodcraft Folk facilitated the first session of the Holiday Activities & Food programme in South Park in Hammersmith & Fulham.

Woodcraft Folk, together with 25 other organisations, are working with Let Me Play to provide summer activities to school aged children and young people.

Our first session included track and trail, food education and a hot meal for all participants.

Welcome to our New ESC Volunteer!

At the beginning of this week we were joined by our newest ESC Volunteer Lauren. Lauren is with us until the January 2022 and will be supporting work at the national camps over the summer as well as working with national events, distanced membership and widening participation over the autumn term.

As a school term comes to an end and a new one is approaching, children and their parents will look for new activities to take part in in September. The last year was not the easiest for the recruitment of young people, however, we believe it has been improving and after 18 months of restrictions what better time to introduce new young people and volunteers to the wonderful world of Woodcraft Folk.
