Publicity
#EverybodyWelcome for #FunAndFriendship
Woodcraft Folk is a place where everybody is welcome. We have lots of fun and develop life-long friendships. That's the message behind our campaign to support groups of all ages to grow their membership.
If you're looking for a group to join, head here to find out more about our groups in general, or take a look at our map to find the groups nearest to you.
Woodcraft Folk's impact
Experience of group night activities, camps, projects and commitees has a really positive impact on children and young people in Woodcraft Folk.
Below you can download a summary of what young people told Cadence, our external evaluators, about the impact youth participation in Woodcraft Folk has had on them. The survey was conducted amongst young people who have experienced either activities run at a local or camp level supported by TREE resources, or activities run by the TREE team themselves:
Publicity Guidance
There are lots of ways to publicise your group. Here are some of the techniques we know work.
Don’t forget that most people won’t sign up after seeing one poster or flyer. Use as many of these approaches as you have time for, and if possible, use together with outreach activity.
Outreach stall guidance
Stalls at community events mean you can target your outreach depending on the type of event you go to.
Playout Guidance
Parks and green spaces are great locations to give families their first taste of Woodcraft Folk. Why not plan one off or regular park activities to recruit new children and families to your group?
Outreach guidance
Face to face outreach sessions are a great way of promoting your group. Families who have met and had fun with you are far more likely to come back than if they’ve just read a flyer.
Local Plans Flyer
Use this flyer to publicise your group by adding local information.
